At Aeres, education, research and business come together. We are the only green knowledge institution in the Netherlands that offers education, practical research and commercial knowledge-intensive services at all levels: from practical education, vmbo, mbo and hbo, to training for professionals and help with personnel issues. The Aeres institutions each have an approach and character appropriate to their field.
The Netherlands is a global leader in the production of high-quality, safe and healthy food. Innovation, circularity and agricultural entrepreneurship characterize the sector, which plays an indispensable role in (international) food security.
Within the knowledge area Agro, Aeres provides a wide range of education and courses that are directly or indirectly related to the sustainable and innovative production, storage and delivery of agricultural products. This includes, for example, the cultivation of crops as well as the production of milk, meat and eggs. Seed breeding and breeding are also part of the focus area Agro.
Within the Technique knowledge area, Aeres focuses on technological innovation in the green sector together with business partners. This includes not only the integration of precision agriculture and smart farming into the operations of arable and livestock farms. Technology for cooling and storing food products also plays a role in this.
The Animal knowledge area focuses mainly on domestic animals and horses. Animals in the wild are also covered. Animal health, animal welfare and the interaction between animals and humans are central themes in the teaching and research activities.
